Lottery Sketch
(c) 2003 Comedy People Ltd

(LOC: COURTROOM - INT - DAY)

JUDGE
Kevin Randall, you have pleaded guilty to forging scratch cards, with the intent to defraud the National Lottery. It is now my onerous duty to pass sentence on you for this despicable offence. However, I must take into account the fact that you gave yourself up to the police, and for that reason I am willing to give you a chance. (Calls off, to BAILIFF) Bring it in, please, Bailiff.

THE BAILIFF BRINGS ON AN EASEL. IT IS COVERED BY A BLACK CLOTH.

JUDGE
Will the defendant please approach the easel.

RANDALL WALKS TO THE EASEL

JUDGE
Give him the coin, and remove the cloth, please, Bailiff.

THE BAILIFF DOES SO. WHEN THE CLOTH IS REMOVED, WE SEE A HUGE SCRATCH CARD, COMPLETE WITH SIX SILVER PANELS.

JUDGE
Off you go, then, Randall...and good luck!

RANDALL SCRATCHES AWAY THE FIRST PANEL, WHICH REVEALS "5 YEARS"

JUDGE:
Remember - any three matching symbols are all you need.

THE SECOND PANEL REVEALS "LIFE". SO DOES THE THIRD. RANDALL LOOKS ILL.

JUDGE:
Ooh dear - not looking too good, is it, Randall? (To camera) Who says justice isn't a lottery?
